How it works
I am excited to now be offering remote/asynchronous feedback on application essay drafts! The purpose of this service is to give students the chance to utilize one of my areas of particular expertise at the discounted price of $90 per hour (or $45/hour for first-time students), all without the hassle of having to meet in real time.
Here’s the step-by-step breakdown…
Start by completing the feedback request form linked above
After reviewing your request, I will then reach out to you via email with confirmation and payment instructions (or when necessary I will let you know about any concerns I have about meeting your proposed deadline, etc.)
Follow the instructions in my confirmation email to submit your payment through Venmo or Zelle
Upon receipt of payment, I’ll start leaving comments and suggestions for you in the specified Google doc!
Additional discount
for the 2024-2025 Application Cycle!
I know that submitting your application essays for feedback can feel daunting, especially when you haven’t yet met your reviewer in person. For this reason, I 100% encourage you to schedule a free intake lesson with me before submitting your feedback request, and to make things even smoother I’ve also decided to offer a special 50% discount this year on your first essay submission (up to 2 hours of review time), translating into a net hourly price of $45. To make use of this discount, please check the applicable box when submitting your request form, and I will confirm the revised rate when replying with payment instructions.
What to expect
When providing remote feedback, I take pains to ensure that my suggestions are as CLEAR and as ACTIONABLE as possible. You can expect a detailed explanation of 1) what I think should be changed, 2) why I think such a change would benefit the overall essay, and 3) as much as possible, an example of something you could say instead that would address the concern that I’m talking about. For prior examples of feedback that I’ve left for students, please see here, here, and here.
Other info
The goal of the process that I’ve outlined above is to make this service as STREAMLINED as possible while also ensuring fairness. If you have any specific concerns, PLEASE reach out to me and I will be happy to adapt or to discuss alternatives (e.g. regarding payment, or measures that you would like me to take so as to ensure accountability).
